A sober-day tracker for iPhone

Count the days.
Reach the outposts.

Outpost is a calm place to keep track of the days you don’t drink. One check-in each evening. A route of outposts to walk towards. New places to stand as you go. Nothing to sign up for, and nothing leaves your phone.

Day one counts

One question, each evening.

From 7 pm, Home asks “Did you drink today?” Answer, and the count takes care of itself. Today is day one. Tomorrow is day two.

  1. 7pm

    Check in

No or Yes. One tap, and a reminder at a time you pick if you forget.

  2. +

    Note what helped

A walk, an early night, a friend. Tap what got you through, or add your own.

  3. “

    A line for the day

Days 1 to 30 each have their own note on what many people notice around then.

Try it. This is the check-in from the app. Nothing here is saved.

Mood can still swing. A lot of people find it settles sooner than it did a few days ago.

Day 8 · 6 days to two weeks

What happened?

Your route continues

The streak starts again from today. The walk so far doesn’t disappear.

Your 41 days on the trail still count, and your locations stay yours. A note for this day, if you want one.

One week

A route, not a scoreboard.

The Route tab lays out five outposts on one dotted trail: one week, two weeks, one month, three months, six months. Each one has its date, a slim bar and the days to go. Reach one after an evening check-in and it gets its own moment, and a card to share if you want to.

Two weeks

Earn new places to stand.

Home sits on a painting. Two come with the app and follow your phone: sunrise by day, the night lake after dark. More are earned at outposts. They unlock by your longest streak, so a slip never takes one away.

Three months

See what you kept.

Tell Outpost roughly how many drinks a typical week held, and what one cost. It spreads that over every sober day, earlier streaks included, so a slip doesn’t wipe it. The currency comes from your phone’s region and stays put.

A little company along the way.

Turn on Encouragement and Outpost plans a few quiet notes ahead: a morning line with your day count, a nudge the night before an outpost, and a Sunday recap. They’re local notifications, written on the phone. Nothing is sent from a server.

When it’s harder than a tracker

Get help is always one tap from Settings and the Guidebook: emergency advice and free helplines for your region. Stopping heavy drinking suddenly can be dangerous, so talk to a doctor first.

Helplines

Personal means personal

It stays on this phone.

Your start date, check-ins, notes and spending live in a small database on your iPhone. There’s no Outpost account and no Outpost server, so there’s nothing of yours for us to read, lose or sell.

Subscriptions go through Apple, and RevenueCat checks them with an anonymous id. Neither sees your notes or your days. Read the privacy policy.

Questions

Before you set off.

How is the day count worked out?

Calendar days from your start date through today, counting today. A start date of today is day one. It moves at local midnight, and checking in doesn’t change it; it just records how the day went.

What happens if I drink?

Answer Yes and the streak starts again from today. Your longest streak is kept, the total days on the trail never reset, money saved still counts every sober day, and any location you’ve earned stays yours. There’s an optional note for the day, and it never calls it a failure.

Do I need an account?

No. There’s nothing to sign up for. Outpost stores everything on your iPhone. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID, so Restore purchases works on a new phone.

What if I get a new phone?

Your records live on the device, so they travel the way your other app data does: in an iPhone backup or when you move to a new iPhone with Apple’s transfer. Outpost doesn’t keep a copy, so it can’t restore one for you.

Is it medical advice?

No. The Guidebook is general information in plain language, and the app is a tool for reflection. If you drink heavily, stopping suddenly can be dangerous. Talk to a doctor. Helplines are here.

How do I cancel?

On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Outpost. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription. More on the support page.
